Dustarin in the Treatment of Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Today the problem of treatment patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is actual one. BPH an age-related chronic progressive disease. It especially relevant for men over age 50 years. According to WHO demographic data, world’s population becoming older, so incidence going increase, that leads a significant decline in quality life due dysfunction lower urinary tract and presence symptoms (LUTS). The management has evolved from surgery conservative therapy. use 5α- reductase inhibitors, which affects pathogenetic links disease, reduces concentration dihydrotestosterone induces apoptosis epithelial cells prostate, pathogenetically justified BPH. objective: study effectiveness dutasteride, belongs group 5α-reductase inhibitors. Materials methods. 58 52-75 years old were examined. persons divided into two groups. first received dutasteride 6 months, second – 12 months. All examined ambulatory by laboratory instrumental diagnostic methods: assessment complaints International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), QoL scale, digital rectal ultrasound examinations, bladder examination, uroflowmetry, prostate-specific antigen level, general blood tests, determination creatinine urea. Uroflowmetry assessed rate urodynamics, identified determined degree disorders . Results. A positive effect was observed both groups, but best results group. regression LUTS, decreased pancreatic volume residual urine output patients. Conclusions. research demonstrated effective agent (BPH), acts on mechanism hyperplasia. drug well tolerated achieved through its continuous long-term use. timely diagnosis will allow stop pathological process return man normal life.
